Member listings include details of grades and awards for accommodation and restaurants and these must obviously be confirmed before they are added to a listing. A summary of the Quality Assurance scheme is available.
Members will normally advise us of their grades and awards via email. Essentially the confirmation process involves checking the online databases of the three different authorities, VisitBritain, VisitWales of the AA. In all cases all businesses that have a current grade are shown on these websites, together with any awards made.
- Visit Wales. Select the type of property (B&B, self-catering etc) and the property name or location. The overview lists the grades and awards. A dedicated page on the site shows those business with a VW Gold award. A page on the site lists the different categories under which accommodation can be graded.
- VisitEngland. One tab on this page allows the grade to checked by searching against name or location. The results show the current grade and any awards. Note that the logos used for awards on this website are different to the nationally recognised symbols. There are specific pages for awards, welcome schemes and the different grading schemes.
- The AA. Different pages describes the schemes for accommodation stars, camping pennants and restaurant rosettes. Check the grade of a hotel or B&B. Check the grade of self-catering or campsites. Check the grade of pubs and restaurants.
