We wanted to make you aware of The Western Daily Press Food and Farming Awards, which launched yesterday. The following is the summary from the website that gives a good overview of the awards.
This is the third year of the Western Daily Press Food and Farming Awards, celebrating the best of farming and food production in the West Country.
In Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Devon we have some of the country’s most famous businesses and brands, and the Western Daily Press is always right behind them.
From field to plate, we are delighted to be able to celebrate this vital industry that underpins the region’s economy and plays such an important part in the daily lives of those who live here.
Last year we had scores of entries from farms and businesses leading to an awards’ night in Bristol attended by more than 200 people.
On May 9th we will be gathering at Rookery Manor to announce the winners of this year’s Western Daily Press Food and Farming Awards in association with Yeo Valley Family Farm.
Whether you are a single farmer, a large agri-business, a cook in a pub or a brewer or whether you run a café or farm shop you can enter and stand a chance of winning one of these prestigious awards.
Within the Association we have members who can win some of the categories so it would be good to see lots of entries. Entries close on March 8th. See the website for full details of categories and how to enter.
