Super new members – say hello

Check out the following businesses that have just joined the Association – Tweet, Facebook and LinkedIn with your network, and don’t forget to say hello.

A date for your diary

Our next members’ meeting takes place on Wednesday 9 November, 11.00 to 13.00 at Harts Barn Cookery School, Longhope.  The meeting will focus on food and drink and local suppliers.

  • We will be showcasing our local supplier members to our wider membership with the opportunity to taste products.
  • As well as the suppliers, the cookery school will be providing cookery demos, tastings, a licensed bar and will talk about the service they provide locally, nationally and internationally to visitors coming to the Forest of Dean.
  • There will also be ‘have a go’ table where you can make your own pasta (the school’s most popular session with tourists) for fun.

We hope lots of you will be able to attend.  Details of the event have been sent to local producers and we hope that they will support this.  If you are a producer and have not receive details, email

2017 Visitor Guide

We are now working on the 2017 Forest of Dean & Wye Valley Visitor Guide.  The Guide continues to grow in popularity, with many positive comments about the publication – we aim to build on this success and make the 2017 Visitor Guide even better!  The print run of the Guide will be 40,000, being distributed nationally and internationally. All members should have been sent details of the guide together with a booking form.  If you have not received details, email

Myths and Legends

We are developing a myths and legends project, which will celebrate and explain all the myths and legends synonymous with our area.  The project will run in a similar way to the film & TV project and we need content from across the area.  If you have any ideas, details or information – or you have heard of any myths/legends you feel should be included, please can you let Kelly have these as soon as possible. Please email

Yat Rock

Almost 130 entries with a wide range of suggestions were received and after a lot of thought, the winning flavour is apple and raspberry suggested by Nicky Cross who lives near Ross-on-Wye. She also suggested the name Yat Rock which caught the imagination of the judges.

Now that the sweet has been made and packaged it’s available to members at trade prices to sell on to your guests and customers. Perfect for guest houses, hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops. Available in large or small quantities.  Further details.
